Although the original color was done in a brown color, the cabinet can be refinished in either reddish or brownish mahogany.
This piano is being restored to like new condition, and the tone is magnificent. Even prior to restoration, it plays and sounds awesome. This is truly a very special piano from a special time in America's piano building history.
The original matching carved bench is included. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc.
TECHNICAL NOTE: It is true that Kranich & Bach had a unique patented action design during the early 20th Century which is obsolete today. Most conventional piano tuners do not know how to properly adjust these unique piano actions, and their parts are difficult to find. Sadly, some piano tuners will scare a would be buyer away from investing in a beautiful Kranich & Bach piano. These pianos are of amazing quality and tone and are terribly misunderstood by most conventional piano tuners. Restoration will include installing a modern-style traditional action so anyone can service it.
