Pleyel is known for being one of the most romantic piano builders of all time. Their instruments are known all over the world as being some of the finest pianos ever built. Throughout the firms history, Pleyel was an innovator and was never afraid to take risks. The firm was known for offering custom-made, custom-designed instruments, many of them being very avaunt-garde and shocking in appearance!
This stunning piano is a custom made piano built in the Chinese Chippendale design. Although the piano is mechanically conventional (it can be tuned and serviced by any standard piano technician), the cabinet is anything but conventional. This beautiful piano is made in an unusual shape (note the unusual curved design of the back) with 5 individual legs instead of the standard 3 legs. The cabinet is painted in a bright green oriental style finish with exquisite hand-painted Chinese paintings in gold relief! The detail on these paintings is phenomenal, right down to the eye brows on the faces and the individual leaves on the trees!
This piano is being restored to like-new condition, inside and out. This piano is not just a beautiful piece of antique furniture; the quality of the instrument will compare to any top quality new piano. A matching bench is included. Computerized player mechanisms can be installed if desired.
