This late model Chickering Square Grand Piano was one of their larger and more impressive models
This wonderful square piano was built by Chickering of Boston in 1881, shortly before the large square piano was discontiued in favor of the smaller upright piano. Chickering was the first piano manufacturer in America, established in 1823 and is said to have built the finest pianos in the world. Long before names such as Steinway, etc., Chickering held top awards world wide for piano design and manufacturing. This piano is one of Chickering's classic Cabriole Leg style square grand pianos.
