DESCRIPTION

This beautiful square piano was built by the famous Chickering & Sons Piano Company of Boston several years prior to the Civil War. Chickering was the first piano manufacturer in America, established in 1823, and their pianos are known to be some of the finest pianos built in American history.
Made of endangered Brazilian Rosewood, this piano is made in the stately Empire Revival style. Note the octagon legs and clean, simple lines, all hallmarks of this classic style. The instrument is being restored to like-new condition inside and out. It has a lovely “harp-like” fortepiano sound heard on the instruments used in the moves like “Pride & Prejudice” and “Cold Mountain”.
Computerized player mechanisms can be installed if desired.
