This beautiful piano is a classic Chickering Apartment Grand.  These Apartment size grand pianos became popular among small apartment homes and cottages of the early 20^thCentury.  Chickering Apartment Grand pianos were known for offering a large, full tone while being ideal for someone with limited space.

This piano was built in 1934 during the height of the Great Depression.  A name-brand baby grand piano like this one would have been quite expensive in 1934.  The original buyer would have likely gone to some sacrifice to afford such an expensive luxury during the Great Depression!

This instrument is made of imported Honduran Mahogany wood under the old deteriorated finish and is of the Traditional Spade-Leg style. These old finishes chemically break down over the years and turn quite dark. A buyer would have the option of having this piano restored to a red or brown mahogany finish.  This piano will be quite beautiful after professional restoration.

It is being restored to perfection, inside and out, and will rival the tone and touch of better quality grand pianos built today.  If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation computerized player system, allowing the piano to play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc. This system has over 10,000 songs available in its music library!
