Established in 1828, Bosendorfer is known for building some of the finest pianos in the world
For nearly 2 centuries, Bosendorfer has remained one of the worlds preeminent and most celebrated piano manufacturers. Instruments by Bosendorfer were commonly found in stately homes and palace across Europe, and the firm was often the top choice of Royalty and Nobility.
This rare instrument is an early example of the Empire Revival Victorian style done in a black lacquer finish with blonde satinwood trim. Note the beautifully carved music rack which gives the instrument an overall stately and elegant appearance.
The piano has a typical light-touch Viennese style action which was preferred by pianists of the time. These early grand pianos have a soft, harp-like forte-piano sound quality that is quite pleasant to hear. This piano will be restored to like-new condition, inside and out. Restoration will be done with a historical perspective in mind.
