Julius Bluthner Was One Of Europe’s Most Celebrated Piano Manufacturers
Julius Bluthner is known for making some of the finest pianos in history. While these instruments are quite popular in European countries, instruments by Bluthner are a bit scarce here in the United States. Famous pianists including Franz Liszt praised Bluthner’s instruments for their tone and durability.
This is a beautiful example of a 19th Century Bluthner grand piano done in a black lacquer finish. Built in 1896, this instrument was built at the beginning of the Europe’s “Golden Age” of piano manufacturing. Note the beautifully crafted fret-work music rack and elegantly turned legs with brass ferrules. The instrument has an overall elegant and formal appearance while maintain the large and powerful sound quality that Bluthner instruments are famous for.
This piano will be restored to like-new condition, inside and out, all done with a historical perspective in mind. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc. Thousands of song titles are available.
