DESCRIPTION

This is a very rare Wing & Son 5 pedal orchestral upright grand piano in exquisite burl walnut. It has beautifully carved panels, richly detailed moldings, and elegant paneled sides. The Wing & Son Piano Company had a reputation for building only high quality pianos and sold them exclusively from their lavish mail order catalogs. This particular piano was sold as the “Style 29 Concert Grand” according to its original sales catalog (see photos). Some of these pianos were equipped with 5 pedals, which mimic sounds of the mandolin, banjo, harp, and zither. One cannot imagine how delightful it is to listen to one of these pianos when properly restored, and this piano is generally a favorite among our guests. When not engaged, the piano plays normally without any interference from these pedal attachments. The sound and touch of these Wing pianos is unmatched, as they are truly magnificent, rare, and wonderful instruments. Note the amazing transformation in the "before" and "after" photos! An original matching stool is included. This piano can be fitted with computerized player mechanisms if desired.
