DESCRIPTION

This lovely piano is a rare example of the “Model 208 Mission Oak” Craftsman Style upright piano offered by the large Hamilton Piano Company of Chicago.  Dwight Hamilton Baldwin, founder of the world famous Baldwin Piano Company of Chicago, named the “Hamilton” line of pianos after his own name.  Hamilton was proudly sold as one of Baldwin’s top brand names for over a century.
The instrument is made of richly-figured quarter sawn oak wood, complete with the Craftsman style Mortise & Tenon design.  Note the beautifully detailed woodwork on each side of the keyboard.  This instrument has an overall handsome and elegant appearance.  The wood has been finished in a hand-rubbed wax and shellac finish, giving the wood grain an amazing sense of depth and texture found only in the finest Mission furniture.
This piano is being internally restored to like new condition.  It is a full-size upright grand, and will have the tone of a full grand piano once the restoration is complete.  The overall touch and tone is what one would expect from a high quality product from the Baldwin Piano Company.
If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc.
A matching oak piano stool is included.
Note: As founder of The Antique Piano Shop, I have personally collected Mission / Arts & Crafts style pianos for over 25 years.  I have a great passion for anything Mission / Arts & Crafts, including Craftsman homes, furniture, and accessories.  If you are a true Arts & Crafts enthusiast, you will appreciate how impossible it is to find true Arts & Crafts / Mission style pianos in today’s market.  Nearly three decades of collecting and preserving these “impossible to find” instruments has allowed me the opportunity to present the largest collection of true Mission / Arts & Crafts style instruments anywhere in the world.
We are proud to offer the serious enthusiast the option of adding an authentic period instrument for their Craftsman home.
