DESCRIPTION

Steinway is said to have built the best pianos in the world. This beautiful little instrument is one of the earliest Steinway upright pianos we’ve ever had in our collection. Standing at about 40 inches tall, it’s small size made it ideal for boudoirs and small Victorian cottages. These early Steinway upright pianos are very rare due to the popularity of the square piano during the mid-19th Century. It was not until around 1890 that the upright piano gained favor over the square piano in America.
This beautiful instrument is made of endangered Brazilian Rosewood and is of the Rococo Victorian style. Note the extensively carved legs, moldings and trim. Only the finest Victorian parlor would have been privileged to house such an exquisite instrument!
This piano is being restored to like-new condition, inside and out. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc.
An original matching antique piano stool is included.
