DESCRIPTION

The Steinway Model “C” was once one of the most popular and desirable models in the Steinway line. The Model “C”, also known as “Style 3” on earlier instruments, was the second largest Concert Grand piano Steinway produced during the late 19th and early 20th Century. It was known for its incredible power and volume and was widely used on the concert stages of its day. The Model “C” was discontinued in 1936 in favor of the more popular and slightly smaller Model “B” Semi-Concert Grand. Today, the Model “C” is one of the most desirable instruments ever built.

This is a rare Steinway & Sons “Model C” made of beautiful exotic African mahogany wood in the Victorian style. The unusual gold and bronze tones in the shimmering wood grain reflect the amazing lengths Steinway went to get only the finest veneers for their pianos. The instrument features beautifully turned legs (often referred to as the “ice cream cone” style) with carved music rack and pedal lyre. This lovely piano has an overall formal and elegant appearance. It has been restored to perfection, inside and out, and is concert ready.
