Description
Stunning Steger & Sons French Style Baby Grand Piano In Exotic Circassian Walnut Wood.
The Steger & Sons Piano Company was one of the larger and more successful piano Chicago manufacturers in the early 20th Century. In fact, the suburb of “Steger, Illinois” was built around the Steger Piano Factory! Despite the vast success of Steger & Sons, their pianos are not one of the more well-known American piano brands. Steger & Sons built pianos of excellent quality and craftsmanship, and they are consistently very good sounding instruments.
By the turn of the 20th century, American interior design and décor saw a huge revival in period and historical furniture styles. This led some of the industry’s better makers to introduce period “Art-Case” style pianos to their product line in order to meet the needs of period design trends. This piano was made in the French influenced Louis XV curved leg style, intricately carved in beautiful detail. The case is made of beautiful exotic Circassian Walnut wood, one of the most expensive wood choices available in 1916. The piano has a look and feel of simple elegance overall.
This piano will be restored to like-new condition, inside and out. The instrument will have a large, full tone quality despite its small size. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc. Thousands of song titles are available.
The original matching piano bench is included.
