This is a rare and beautiful J & C Fischer parlor grand piano from the height of America's Victorian era. Fischer was a very important part of America's musical past. They built exceptional pianos from 1840-1982, one of the few American piano companies to survive well over a century. Note the elaborate scalloping around the case, and the intricately carved legs, pedal lyre and music rack. This piano is a prime example of the heavily carved Empire Revival Victorian Style that was popular in the last quarter of the 19th Century. In the photos we show a page from an original Fischer catalog showing this piano selling for $1,200 in the 1880's, the cost of a house! This level of craftsmanship just isn't available on instruments built today. This piano has been restored back to its original hand-rubbed satin black lacquer finish. It comes with a very rare, original adjustable artists bench, and can be equipped with computerized player mechanisms if desired.
