DESCRIPTION

Chickering was the first piano manufacturer in America. Chickering pianos have been celebrated for over 150 years as some of the finest pianos ever made.
This handsome piano was built by Chickering in 1904, a time when their full-size “upright grand” pianos were quite popular. The tone quality of these large Chickering upright pianos can be quite impressive! This piano is made of beautifully carved Honduran Mahogany wood. Note that the ornately carved front legs have been replaced with “modern” style legs by a previous owner (to give the piano a more contemporary look), a relatively common practice during the 1950s – 1970s period. A set of carved cabriole-style legs will be replaced during the restoration process.
This piano is being restored to like-new condition, inside and out. This piano can be equipped with the computerized player mechanism is desired. A matching Victorian piano stool is included.
