DESCRIPTION

Chickering was the first piano manufacturer in America. Chickering has long been known having built some of the finest instruments in American history!
This beautiful piano is a classic "Quarter Grand" model baby grand piano, one of Chickering’s most successful models during the early 20th Century period. The “Quarter Grand” model was designed as a smaller size grand piano with modest dimensions. Although it has a full 88 note keyboard and is a full-size piano in every way, the “Quarter Grand” has narrow dimensions and an overall petite appearance. These pianos are an average of 3 to 5 inches narrower than conventional baby grand pianos, but their unique scale design creates a tone quality that is comparable to much larger instruments.
This instrument is made of imported Honduran Mahogany wood and is of the Traditional style. It is being restored to perfection, inside and out, and will rival the tone and touch of better quality grand pianos built today.
This piano was just shipped to our shop in Tennessee from Norway, where original owner bought it and was able to play it without ever reading sheet music!
The owner is the great grandson of well known Norgegian music composer, Adolf Hansen.
Computerized player mechanisms can be installed if desired.
