Built in 1916 by the famous Rudolph Wurlitzer Company, it is an extreme adaptation of the Louis XV style.This piano is carved in the beautiful Baroque / Country-French style and has been custom finished in a custom distressed marbleized pearl finish with aged gold and copper accents. In person, this beautiful instrument has a true palatial look and feel, making the piano well suited for the most opulent surroundings. Next is this gorgeous Marshall & Wendell Neoclassical Style Grand Player Piano built in 1927.Turn-Of-The-Century America was a period of lavish lifestyles, excessive luxury and great prosperity. Several piano manufacturers specialized in creating custom, one-of-a-kind pianos on special order for wealthier clients in order to match their home’s décor, often in historical or period furniture styles. The piano is hand-painted in the Neoclassical style and is adorned with detailed with exquisite scenery. This Weber Louis XV Parlor Grand Player Piano was built in 1906 and is a stunning example of the Louis XV style. The case is made of exotic-grain Circassian Walnut wood and is gilded with exquisite solid brass ormolu accents. With its elegantly carved legs, pedal lyre & moldings, the overall appearance of this beautiful instrument is truly reminiscent of America’s elegant gilded age. The piano has been completely restored to like-new condition, inside and out. Simply put, the quality and craftsmanship found in this piano is seldom found today. The final piano we are highlighting today is this elegant custom designed Louis XVI Style Pleyel Grand Piano built in 1915. This piano was built in Paris a century ago and was custom made to resemble a Medieval-era harpsichord. Because of its massive “larger than life” proportions and unique styling, this piano was likely commissioned for some grand European castle or forgotten Baronial mansion. From what we know, the piano remained in France until the late 20th Century when it was exported to the United States. Sitting tall and proud on 7 individual Louis XVI style legs, the case is adorned with hand-painted murals accented in distressed greens and yellows and trimmed in aged antique gold. This piano was obviously created to appear “larger than life”; the exterior cabinet was made longer, taller and deeper than the instrument within.
