Rare Antique “Ice Cream Cone” Style Steinway & Sons Model B Concert Grand Piano
Out of stock
By 1890, the Model B Steinway Concert Grand had become the premier instrument for America’s concert stages and large estate homes. This lovely Model B Steinway was built in 1890, a time when instruments were just beginning to evolve from heavily carved Baroque and Rococo styles into more classic and traditional designs. This instrument is made in what is commonly known as Steinway’s “Ice Cream Cone” leg design, one of Steinway’s simpler yet elegant Victorian designs. The finish is done in high-polish black lacquer which is accented by exotic burl wood trim on the legs, lyre, music rack, and inside rim. The lid prop and underside of the lid is also finished in beautiful exotic burl wood.
The level of restoration this piano has received is the finest possible quality. Every last detail of this piano looks, plays, and sounds like a new instrument. A matching bench is included.
Steinway pianos of this style and caliber are among the most rare and desirable vintage pianos in history.
