Description
This rare Steinway & Sons player piano will be equipped with the latest and most advanced QRS Pianomation Player System
In the early 20th Century, a Steinway & Sons player piano was one of the most expensive instruments money could buy. While Steinway & Sons built a considerable number of grand and baby grand player pianos, their upright player pianos were built in much smaller numbers. Steinway’s upright player pianos were originally intended for those with limited space who required a top-quality musical instrument.
This Steinway & Sons upright piano is a large, full-size “upright grand” piano with the string length and soundboard area equivalent to a small grand piano. The piano is made of imported Honduran Mahogany wood and is done in the Colonial style. The piano can be restored back to any shade of mahogany, walnut or even ebony black lacquer if desired.
The piano was originally built as a pneumatically operated player piano, but the mechanical player mechanisms were removed from the instrument long ago. The piano will be completely restored, inside and out, with all work being done with a historical perspective in mind. The piano will be equipped with the latest and most advanced QRS Pianomation player system which allows the piano to play by itself by streaming music through any smart device. Over 13,000 song titles are now available!
A matching piano bench is included.
