DESCRIPTION

This is a very rare square grand piano built by Sieh & Hintz of New York.  The partnership between Charles Sieh and Adolph Hintz lasted only one short year in 1862, and very few pianos were built under their partnership.  Pianos by Sieh & Hintz are exceedingly rare today.

The piano is made of beautifully figured Brazilian Rosewood and is of the carved Rococo Victorian style.  Note the elaborate castings in the ornate harp inside the piano, a feature found only on the highest-grade, most expensive pianos.

This piano will be restored to like-new condition, inside and out.  Unlike the harsh tone so often heard on new pianos, these antique square grand pianos have a softer, “harp-like” sound quality which is very pleasing to the ear. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music from any smart device.  More than 10,000 song titles are available!
