DEPOSITS: The restoration of this instrument has not been completed. A 30% deposit is required on instruments pending restoration. This deposit holds the instrument and keeps it from being offered to another clients, and it also makes that piano's restoration a priority. Once we complete the restoration, we invite the client to visit our shop to see and hear the piano. If the client is unable to visit our shop, we will send professional photos and videos of the piano for review. The client then has the option of paying the balance and purchasing the piano, transferring their balance to another piano in our shop, or getting a full refund for their deposit. The client is never at risk.

DESCRIPTION

Kranich & Bach was one of the most innovative American builders in 19th Century piano building. Their instruments were known to be of very high quality which was reflected by their high price.

This is a lovely Kranich & Bach square grand piano from the 1870s, a time when more square pianos were being built in America than both upright and grand pianos combined! Many of Kranich & Bach’s innovations and improvements are present in this instrument, giving a full, rich sound quality.

This piano is made of Brazilian Rosewood and is of the carved Rococo Victorian style. This piano was one of their “top of the line” models which boasts a full 88-note keyboard and models extensive carvings around the cabinet. The instrument will be restored to like-new condition, inside and out. This piano has a sweet, harp like tone quality that is very pleasant to hear!

If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music on any smart device. Thousands of song titles are available.
