Ludden & Bates was one of the largest music retailers in the southern United States.  Based in Savannah, GA, Ludden & Bates sold both musical instruments and sheet music which were primarily distributed across several southern states.  In addition to building their own pianos, Ludden & Bates sold pianos by several large manufactures which were sold in their retail stores.

This piano was built by the Lester Piano Company for Ludden & Bates in 1912.  The piano is made of beautiful imported Honduran Mahogany wood under the old deteriorated finish and is of the Mission style.  The piano can be finished in either a brown or red mahogany finish.  Lester pianos were known for their superior tone quality and fine craftsmanship; this piano has all indications of being a very nice instrument after restoration.

If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system which will allow the instrument play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc. Thousands of song titles are available.

A matching piano bench is included.
