Early piano by James W. Vose. This piano was built years before the firm became known as “Vose & Sons”.
This instrument is a beautiful example of the instruments produced by James W. Vose prior to the Civil War. J. W. Vose was one of Boston’s preeminent piano manufactures and the firm enjoyed substantial success early on. It was not until 1889 that the firm became known as “Vose & Sons”, a popular brand built throughout the 20th Century.
This piano is made of beautiful Brazilian Rosewood and is of the Empire Revival Victorian style. The wood of this piano is lovely and light in color, and can easily be finished to any shade of rosewood a client desires. Note the beautifully decorated painted designs on the harp inside the piano, all of which will be restored and preserved during the restoration process.
Computerized player mechanisms can be installed if desired.
