DEPOSITS: The restoration of this instrument has not been completed. A 30% deposit is required on instruments pending restoration. This deposit holds the instrument and keeps it from being offered to another clients, and it also makes that piano's restoration a priority. Once we complete the restoration, we invite the client to visit our shop to see and hear the piano. If the client is unable to visit our shop, we will send professional photos and videos of the piano for review. The client then has the option of paying the balance and purchasing the piano, transferring their balance to another piano in our shop, or getting a full refund for their deposit. The client is never at risk.

DESCRIPTION

This beautifully carved piano was manufactured by The Ivers & Pond Piano Company circa 1895.  Ivers & Pond was one of Boston’s largest and most successful piano manufacturers.  Their pianos were known to be of superior quality and craftsmanship.  Because of their quality and reputation, Ivers & Pond was one of the few brand names to survive The Great Depression and two world wars.

 

The piano is made of richly figured walnut wood under the painted finish.  A previous owner painted the piano a light blue color with brightly colored accents.  Note the elaborately carved details throughout.  The piano will be quite beautiful after professional restoration and will be going back to its original walnut finish.

 

This piano will be completely restored, inside and out, with a historical perspective in mind.  This is a large full-size “upright grand” with a tone quality comparable to most baby grand pianos.  If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live from any smart device.  Thousands of song titles are available.
