DESCRIPTION

Hallet & Davis was one of Boston’s most celebrated manufacturers. Instruments by Hallet & Davis are known to consistently be of superior quality and craftsmanship.  Because of their quality and craftsmanship, pianos were built under the Hallet & Davis brand label for over 150 years.

This piano was built circa 1848, more than a decade prior to the Civil War.  The cabinet is made of Brazilian Rosewood and is of the Empire Revival Victorian style.  Note the beautifully decorated harp depicting elegantly hand-painted Chinoiserie inspired flowers, vines and birds – all exceptionally well preserved!

These earlier square pianos are known for their soft harp-like tone quality which is quite pleasing to listen to.  This piano will be restored to like-new condition both inside and out.  If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live from any smart device. Thousands of song titles are available.
