Description
Rare example of the Mission/Arts & Crafts design in fine Canadian piano building
The D.W. Karn built high quality pianos in Woodstock, Ontario from 1890 to 1961. They were one of the largest and most successful piano & organ manufacturers in Canadian history, and their instruments are known to be of superior quality and craftsmanship.
This beautiful D. W. Karn upright piano is made in the rare Arts & Crafts/Mission style. It was built in 1915, close to the end of North America’s famous Arts & Crafts movement. The instrument is made of beautifully figured quarter sawn oak wood which enhance the beautiful Craftsman style. The original finish can be saved and restored on this piano rather than refinished. The piano is being restored to like new condition, inside and out. Not only is this a beautiful piece of Craftsman furniture, but a very good quality musical instrument as well.
If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc.
