This piano is a beautiful example of the superior craftsmanship produced by the renowned Knabe Piano Company during the 19th Century. Even today, Knabe pianos are known worldwide as being one of the finest piano brands ever made.
This piano, available from the Antique Piano Shop, is made of beautifully carved Brazilian Rosewood in the Eastlake Victorian style. This piano is particularly notable for the beautiful cut work around the music desk and intricately carved legs and pedal lyre. This model piano was known as the “Parlor Grand” and was popular in larger homes and conservatories of the Victorian era. While substantial enough for a professional musician or small auditorium, the size of the piano made it very desirable for most Victorian parlors and sitting rooms and would make a great addition for any modern home.
This piano is being restored to like new condition, inside and out. The tone and touch of the instrument will rival any new high-quality piano found today.
If desired, this piano can be equipped with the QRS Pianomation player system and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc.
