Conover was the “flagship” brand of the famous Cable Piano Company
Conover was the top-of-the-line flagship brand offered by the famous Cable Piano Company of Chicago, IL. Conover pianos were high grade and expensive pianos when new.
This lovely Conover upright piano was built in 1909 during the transitional Edwardian period. This period saw styles evolving from the elaborately carved Victorian models of the 19thCentury toward the modern stream-lined instruments of the 1920s and 1930s. This piano is made of beautiful book-matched walnut wood which gives the instrument an overall sense of simple elegance. The tone and touch of this piano are typical of what one would expect from a high-quality period instrument.
This piano will be restored to like-new condition, inside and out. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc. Thousands of song titles are available.
