DESCRIPTION

This piano is a rare example of an American built Schimmel upright piano from the turn of the century. The Schimmel Piano Company of Germany is one of the world’s oldest and finest piano builders, and they are just about the best pianos being built today. Part of the Schimmel family ventured to America in the late 19th Century to open an American Schimmel Piano Company in Faribault, MN. The American Schimmel pianos were built from about 1885-1911. The American Schimmel Company was closed in about 1912 due to fierce competition among other high quality American Piano Manufacturers.

This piano has all of the same qualities of the German Schimmels, and it is an absolutely amazing sounding piano, even prior to restoration. This piano will make a superb instrument for someone wanting both a beautiful piece of furniture as well as a quality musical instrument.
