DESCRIPTION

This is a very rare and unusual Emerson Victorian upright piano in quarter sawn oak wood, circa 1889. Victorian pianos in oak are exceedingly rare because darker woods like rosewood and mahogany were more fashionable at the time. Oak was considered a cheap domestic wood and was not commonly used on higher-end Victorian pianos. Emerson has an outstanding reputation of building high quality pianos for nearly a century, building pianos from 1849 until about 1940. This piano is truly unique because of the beautiful ornate copper panels. The copper is a beautiful compliment to the beautifully carved quarter sawn oak cabinet. This piano has been equipped with computerized player mechanisms. A matching oak stool is included.
