Blanchet Fils
Blanchet Fils was a small, family owned shop based in Paris from about 1835 – 1855. Surviving instruments suggest that these instruments were hand-made with exceptional quality and craftsmanship – only the finest product was good enough to bear the family name. It appears that very few of these instruments were actually built, and they are exceedingly rare today. Because the name Blanchet Fils is not one that is well known or built in mass quantity does not mean the instrument isn’t a quality piece – in fact, the opposite is more often true. We find that the rarest and most obscure pianos can often be the most well-made and desirable instruments.
