Kunkel Brothers was a large, successful retailer or musical instruments and related merchandise in St. Louis, MO during the late 19th and early 20th Century era. Kunkel Brothers started out selling sheet music and various musical instruments after the Civil War, and by the turn-of-the-century era they were marketing their on line of piano and player pianos. They sold their instruments both through their large stores and mail order catalogs, distributing their instruments all across the mid-western United States. Kunkel Brothers was out of business by the Great Depression.
