Archer
What most people don't realize is that most piano manufacturers didn't make their own pianos stools or benches, but rather, they contracted other companies to build them! The Archer Manufacturing Company was one of the largest manufacturers of piano & organ stools & benches in the turn-of-the-century era.
Archer did build a number of pianos after the turn of the 20th Century, with their piano line controlled by the Baumeister Piano Company of NY. The few extant Archer instruments we have seen come through our shop have been of very good quality. Like so many other American manufacturers, Archer was out of business by the 1920's era. Today we still find a great many stools and benches marked with the Archer Manufacturing Company label, but their pianos are somewhat rare.
