DEPOSITS: The restoration of this instrument has not been completed. A 30% deposit is required on instruments pending restoration. This deposit holds the instrument and keeps it from being offered to other clients, and it also makes that piano’s restoration a priority. Once we complete the restoration, we invite the client to visit our shop to see and hear the piano. If the client is unable to visit our shop, we will send professional photos and videos of the piano for review. The client then has the option of paying the balance and purchasing the piano, transferring their balance to another piano in our shop, or getting a full refund for their deposit. The client is never at risk.

Description

Steinway was established in 1853, and they have built pianos consistently since then. This piano was built by Steinway in 1889 and is known as a “Model B”. This piano is exceedingly rare because it is made of Quarter Sawn Oak wood! Grand pianos made of Oak are almost non-existent today because Oak was a cheaper domestic wood and most grand pianos were built of imported and exotic woods like Honduras Mahogany and Brazilian Rosewood. Grand pianos made of quarter sawn oak were almost always a special order, custom made instrument. Also note the beautiful floral patterned wood inlay on the key-cover and music desk. This instrument has been restored to like new condition, including a new action, new strings, pin block, pins, etc, and is like new in every way. This instrument will match any new $100,000 grand piano in touch and tone – it is a phenomenal instrument. A matching antique bench is included. Computerized player mechanisms can be installed if desired.
