DESCRIPTION

The Steinway Model B Grand Piano is known to be one of the most desirable of all concert quality instruments. This lovely Model B Concert Grand is especially rare because it was built in 1900 (making it a thoroughly modern instrument) yet is was made in the Rococo Victorian style which was popular decades earlier. This piano is the latest Rococo Steinway we have ever seen - most Rococo Steinways are from the 1860's - 1870's period. Based on surviving instruments, it appears that Steinway (as well as most other manufacturers) discontinued the Rococo curved leg by about 1885 in favor of the more traditional round leg. The change from the carved Rococo leg to the round fluted leg came with the evolution of more modern and streamlined designs during the late 19th and early 20th Centuries, so finding an original Steinway built as late as 1900 with curved Rococo style legs is quite extraordinary - it was likely a custom order when new.
This piano has been completely restored to like new condition, inside and out, and is finished in a lovely satin rosewood finish. The touch and tone of this piano is typical of the high quality one would expect from a Steinway Model B. This instrument is as it was when it left the factory new in 1900!
If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc.
A matching stool is included.
