DEPOSITS: The restoration of this instrument has not been completed. A 30% deposit is required on instruments pending restoration. This deposit holds the instrument and keeps it from being offered to another clients, and it also makes that piano's restoration a priority. Once we complete the restoration, we invite the client to visit our shop to see and hear the piano. If the client is unable to visit our shop, we will send professional photos and videos of the piano for review. The client then has the option of paying the balance and purchasing the piano, transferring their balance to another piano in our shop, or getting a full refund for their deposit. The client is never at risk.

DESCRIPTION

This is a lovely Steinway & Sons Duo-Art reproducing player piano in the Louis XVI “art-case” style.   The early 20thCentury saw a huge revival in historic period architectural and interior design style.  Better piano manufacturers like Steinway offered a limited number of custom “art-case” pianos to compliment this revival in historic period décor.  The Louis XVI style was one of the more popular styles of the period, and it remains quite popular today.

This piano is made of beautifully figured-grain walnut wood with elegant satinwood inlaid designs.  The piano is equipped with the Aeolian “Duo-Art” reproducing player system, a pneumatically operated player system that allows the piano to play by itself with real expression like a live person.  This piano would have been one of the most expensive instruments money could buy in 1929!

This piano is being restored to like new condition, inside and out.  This is a rare opportunity to own an amazing piece of American musical history.
