Description
Sohmer was one of the last piano builders to hand-make pianos in America, and their instruments are considered some of the best instruments this country has ever produced.
This beautiful piano was built by the famous Sohmer Piano Company of New York at the end of the 19th Century. Sohmer was known for building superior-grade, expensive pianos and the firm was celebrated by pianists and musicians worldwide.
This lovely piano is a small parlor grand, measuring only 5’10” long. The piano is carved in the beautiful Eastlake Victorian Style, and is made of stunning exotic-grain Honduran Mahogany wood. Most carved Victorian era grand pianos are well over 6 feet long, making this piano ideal for someone with limited space.
The piano is being restored to like-new condition, inside and out. The tone and touch of this piano will satisfy the most discriminating musician. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation computerized player system, allowing the piano to play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc. This system has over 10,000 songs available in its music library! A matching piano stool is included.
