These small upright pianos were once popular in cottage parlors, bedrooms, and even saloons!
What an adorable little piano! This is a rare Victorian era upright piano known as the "Model" brand, built and sold by the Simpson Piano Company during the 1880s. This little piano isn't much more than 3 feet tall, and only has 64 notes. It is a real piano, and it sounds and plays like a real piano - the tone and power of this little piano will surprise you! These small upright pianos were commonly referred to as "Boudoir" style pianos, often found in smaller parlors and private rooms of Victorian ladies.
One feature that makes this little piano unusual is that it boasts a beautifully carved likeness of Ludwig Van Beethoven's face in the top gallery (See photos). This piano is made of beautiful Brazilian Rosewood with burl wood inlay and accents. Overall it has an elegant, almost magical appearance.
A matching antique piano stool is included. Computerized player mechanisms can be installed if desired.
