This Schiller Baby Grand Piano is a perfect example of the Italian Florentine style. Many piano manufacturers built beautiful instruments that would reflect old world themes, often creating elaborate reproductions of English, Spanish, & Italian designs.

DEPOSITS: The restoration of this instrument has not been completed. A 30% deposit is required on instruments pending restoration. This deposit holds the instrument and keeps it from being offered to another clients, and it also makes that piano's restoration a priority. Once we complete the restoration, we invite the client to visit our shop to see and hear the piano. If the client is unable to visit our shop, we will send professional photos and videos of the piano for review. The client then has the option of paying the balance and purchasing the piano, transferring their balance to another piano in our shop, or getting a full refund for their deposit. The client is never at risk.

DESCRIPTION

This beautifully carved Schiller baby grand piano was built by the famous Cable Piano Company of Chicago. The Schiller brand was considered Cable’s “Flagship” line which produced high-quality, expensive pianos from about 1892-1957.

This beautiful piano is made of richly figured walnut wood and is of the carved Italian Florentine style; note the elegant double legs with gilded ironwork accents. During this period, there was a huge renaissance in historic period styles within the furniture and interior design industries. Some of the better piano manufactures built a limited number of “art-case” pianos that reflected these popular historic styles. These carved “art-case” pianos were quite a bit more expensive than the Traditional models, making them more rare and desirable as a result.

This piano will be restored to like-new condition, both inside and out. All restoration work will be done with a historical perspective in mind. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, which allows the piano to play by itself by streaming music live from any smart device. More than 10,000 songs are available!
