Description
Beautiful Upright Piano By Richard Lipp & Sohn of Stuttgart
R. Lipp & Sohn was one of Germany’s most prestigious “old world” piano manufacturers and the firm enjoyed a great deal of success throughout the 19th and 20th Centuries. The firm was known for building high-quality, durable instruments of superior touch and tone. Instruments by Richard Lipp & Sohn were primarily marketed in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Vintage instruments by Richard Lipp & Sohn are rarely encountered here in the United States.
This instrument was built by R. Lipp & Sohn in 1909, a prime era for R. Lipp & Sohn. This instruments looks stylistically different than many of the pianos shown on our website because it would have been original designed for the European and Australian Market instead of the North American market. The piano is made of beautiful Indian Mahogany wood. Note the beautiful original Art Nouveau style candle sconces; these pianos were originally marketed to rural regions in Europe, Australia and New Zealand (which were without electricity) making the use of candle light a must.
This piano is being restored to like-new condition, inside and out. The original matching piano bench is included.
