Rare Empire Style Square Piano by Oliver Ditson

This is a rare square piano by the Oliver Ditson & Company of Boston.  Oliver Ditson & Co. was a large retailer of musical instruments and sheet music in the Northeast as well as a piano retailer and manufacturer.  Their pianos were known to be of very fine quality and craftsmanship.

This piano is made of beautiful Brazilian Rosewood and is of the Empire Revival Victorian style.  Note the elaborately cast plate with raised medallion design and the beautifully cut-through filigree music rack.  This piano has an overall simple yet elegant beauty about it.  The instrument will be restored to like-new condition, inside and out.  Computerized player mechanisms can be installed if desired.
