Breathtaking Newman Brothers Victorian Upright Piano In Burl Walnut Wood
Out of stock
This is a lovely Newman Brothers upright piano from Chicago, circa 1892. This piano is made of heavily carved burl walnut wood which was painted orange by its previous owner! Victorian pianos of the caliber are quite rare today. This piano has a fresco of a lady playing her harp carved into the front panel...the detail is just amazing. The ornate front is complimented by heavily carved Jacobean style legs and pillars with a rope molding motif. The inside of this piano is adorned with what appears to be lavishly colored wood inlay in which the brand name is shown. It also has an inlaid fresco of musical instruments, etc. which are very rare.
Newman Brothers were known for building very high quality pianos with elaborate cabinets. After restoration, this piano will look and play like the day it was built, over 110 years ago! It can be equipped with computerized player mechanisms if desired. An original matching stool is included.
