Description
Rare Mason & Hamlin Square Grand Piano
Mason & Hamlin is considered to be one of the finest piano manufactures in American history. The firm started by building organs and melodeons long before they began building pianos in 1883. By the 1880s, square grand pianos were waning in popularity due to the success of the upright piano. Mason & Hamlin built very few square pianos because the firm entered the piano manufacturing business so late.
This piano is made of beautifully carved Brazilian Rosewood and is of the Rococo Victorian style. The instrument is elegantly carved and has a massive, handsome appearance. Even now, prior to restoration, the piano has a large, strong tone quality. The piano is being restored to like new condition, inside and out.
This piano can be equipped with computerized player mechanisms if desired.
