Out of stock
The early 20th Century saw a revival in classic historical furniture styles and finishes. This is a stunning custom made Spanish Renaissance style baby grand piano that would have been specially designed for a period style home. Originally done in an English brown mahogany finish, this instrument features elaborately carved legs adorned with ornate ironwork painted in dull red, green and gold accents. The overall affect achieves a true “Old World” Renaissance look and feel.
This unusual baby grand piano was built by the famous Marshall & Wendell Piano Company in 1932, the height of the Great Depression. In 1932, the purchase of a baby grand piano would have been a great financial sacrifice for the average American family; only a wealthy few could easily afford the luxury of a specially designed piano like this!
The instrument is being restored to like-new condition, inside and out. The overall tone and touch will be of excellent quality. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc.
The original matching carved bench is included.
