Description
Lindeman & Sons was one of New York’s most successful piano manufacturers of the 19th Century
William Lindeman started building pianos in New York in about 1836, making him one of the earliest American piano manufacturers. Because of their quality and craftsmanship, Lindman pianos were built for nearly 150 years.
This lovely piano was built in 1874, a time when more square pianos were being built than both grand pianos and upright pianos combined! This piano is made of Brazilian Rosewood and is of the carved Rococo Victorian style. It boasts a full 88-note keyboard which indicates this was a “top of the line” instrument in its day. These instruments sold new for as much as $1,000 in the 19thCentury – the cost of a small house.
This piano will be restored to like-new condition, inside and out. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by connecting to any streaming smart device. Thousands of song titles are available.
The original matching piano stool is included.
