Description
Rare Square Grand Piano By W.W. Kimball & Company
Although Kimball was one of the largest and most popular companies in American history, they began the manufacture of their own pianos quite late compared to other large firms. Although the firm was established in the 1850s, Kimball didn't start manufacturing their own pianos in about 1888, and by then the square grand piano was just about out of fashion in favor of the smaller upright piano.
This beautiful piano is a rare example of an early Kimball square grand piano built during the first years of Kimball's manufacturing history. It is made of beautiful Brazilian Rosewood and is of the Rococo Victorian style. This instrument really is an important piece of American's piano manufacturing history. The piano has been preserved very well over the years, and it is being restored to like new condition inside and out. A matching antique stool is included.
