DESCRIPTION

Jacob Chickering, a distant relative of the massive Chickering Piano Company empire, was a small manufacturer in Boston during the middle 19th Century period. As a small independent manufacturer, Jacob Chickering built only a few models of square pianos in modest numbers which were primarily distributed across the Northeastern United States.
This lovely piano is one of a handful of Jacob Chickering pianos we have seen come through our shop over the years. It is made of Brazilian Rosewood and is of the Empire Revival style. Note the elaborately detailed harp motive inside the piano, cast directly into the piano plate; the detail is exquisite! This piano also has unusual rounded ivory keys which will be beautiful after restoration.
This piano is being restored to like-new condition inside and out. A computerized player system can be installed if desired.
