Ivers began building pianos under his own name in about 1872, then went into partnership with Handel Pond in 1880 to establish “The Ivers & Pond Piano Company”. Instruments built by William H. This lovely piano was built circa 1873, making it one of the earliest examples of Ivers’ pianos we’ve seen. This instrument was built when the square grand piano was at its height of popularity in the Victorian American home. More square pianos were being built in America during this time than grand pianos and upright pianos combined!
This piano is made of Brazilian Rosewood and is of the carved Rococo Victorian style. This piano was one of their “top of the line” models which boasts a full 88-note keyboard, a costly option at that time. The instrument will be restored to like-new condition, inside and out. This piano has a sweet, harp-like tone quality that is very pleasant to hear!
If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system and can play by itself by streaming music on any smart device. Thousands of song titles are available.
A matching piano stool is included.
