Hamilton was one of the most successful brand names built by the famous Baldwin Piano & Organ Company
The Hamilton Piano Company was a substantial part of the famous Baldwin Piano & Organ Company. Named after the founder, Dwight “Hamilton” Baldwin, the Hamilton brand name was one of the few American piano brand names to be built consistently for over a century. Hamilton upright pianos were considered one of the finest American made upright pianos during the mid to late 20th Century. Like the later instruments, these early Victorian Hamilton upright pianos were substantially well made, high quality instruments.
This lovely piano is built of quarter sawn oak wood and is of the carved Late Victorian style. Light oak pianos in the Victorian style are less common than the darker oak and mahogany models. The case is especially attractive because it is not “overdone”, and has a clean balance of elegance and simplicity.
Even now, prior to restoration, the piano has a rich, full tone and nice touch, all indications of a fine quality musical instrument after professional restoration.
This piano will be restored to like-new condition, inside and out. The instrument will have a large, full tone quality despite its small size. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc. Thousands of song titles are available.
