DESCRIPTION

This beautiful piano was the highest-grade, most expensive upright piano in the Hallet & Davis Piano Company product line.  Built in 1874, this instrument reflects the gilded Victorian Asge with its lavishly carved cabinet and overall stunning appearance.  The instrument is finished in black satin lacquer with exotic Burlwood trim, all embellished with delicate gold leaf accents and trim.

The instrument is being restored to like new condition, inside and out.  This is a large, full-size upright piano with long strings and a very large soundboard.   The sound quality of these full size upright pianos is better than most modern baby grand pianos!  Pianos of this caliber would have cost several hundred dollars when new – the cost of a small house of the era.  Because of their high cost, these instruments were built in small numbers and are quite rare today.

If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc. More than 10,000 song titles are available!

A matching stool is included.
