Description
The firm of S. T. Gordon was a smaller, family-owned firm that built instruments of superior quality
The firm of S. T. Gordon was established about 1873 by Stephen T. Gordon and his son Hamilton S. Gordon. The firm built very well-made square pianos on a smaller scale in New York City until about 1890.
The piano is made of Brazilian Rosewood under the old finish and is of the carved Rococo Victorian style. This piano boasts a full 88-note keyboard, a costly option at the time. Also note the elaborately carved legs, molding and trim, features only found on the highest-grade, most expensive pianos of the period.
This piano will be restored and refinished to like new condition, inside and out. The delicate "harp like" tone of these square pianos is very pleasant to listen to! If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live from any smart device. Thousands of song titles are available.
